Brightside Studios Dallas - Kitchen Reveal

We’re excited to officially reveal one of our favorite sections of our natural light studio - our kitchenette! We’ve all heard the popular saying, “the kitchen is the heart of the home,” and here at Brightside Studios, it holds true in every sense. When we decided to create a photo studio in Dallas, we knew that we wanted to create a space that met the different needs of photographers and creatives all in one studio. When we first began planning the kitchen build-out, we knew that we wanted to create a space that not only looked beautiful but was also functional and versatile. As photographers ourselves, we understand the importance of having a space that allows for flexibility in our work. With this in mind, we made sure to include the key elements that would make this kitchen a valuable addition to our studio.

The process of building out this space was a labor of love for us. We tore out the cheap and small existing kitchenette, extended the countertops to 12 feet in the back to create more space for working and styling. We added a huge 9-foot island with seating for 4 and assembled all the cabinets ourselves. We also sealed the butcher block countertops, tiled the backsplash with a white subway tile, and finished off the space by styling it with neutral home decor and pops of green to create a cohesive aesthetic. My partner, Aaron, and I with a bit of help from some talented friends, brought this kitchen to life, and we couldn't be happier with the finished product.

Taking a step back and looking at the entire kitchenette always feels so rewarding and there’s so much we love about the space:

The Floating Shelves: This was an element we knew we just had to have. They not only add a modern and stylish touch to the room but also provide additional styling space that clients and photographers can utilize in their shoots. They are also a perfect spot to showcase for our kitchenware and carefully selected decor items.

Clean White Backsplash: Our clean white subway tile backsplash has a timeless and sophisticated look that we love. It acts as a blank canvas for creative shoots, making food and product shots pop against the neutral backdrop.

Huge Island For Seating: The centerpiece of our studio kitchen is the massive 9-foot island that comfortably seats four. The huge countertop space makes it perfect for food styling and photography. It’s also a great spot for photographers and their clients to enjoy a cup of coffee or some food while taking a break during a long shoot.

Stocked Fridge: Our fridge is ready and stocked with drinks (we’re talking Topo Chicos, Gatorades, Sodas and more) for those breaks during a shoot. The fridge is fully functioning and is ready to store any items that need to be refrigerated for a shoot. It’s more than just a prop; it’s a working fridge ready to support your shoots.

Adaptable Space: We designed our kitchen with versatility in mind. Its layout and features are adaptable to suit different needs for various types of shoots and events. The flexibility of the space encourages creativity while still remaining functional for any project.

All the features we included in this space make it the perfect spot for all types of shoots. When we imagine the type of shoots that could take place in this space, we immediately think of food bloggers and nutritionists who are constantly in need of a bright and functional kitchen space to showcase their recipes and products. This space is also perfect for branding photographers who want to offer a more lifestyle element to their client’s session. The "in-home" couples shoot is another great opportunity to use the kitchen to capture intimate moments of a couple cooking together, or simply enjoying a meal in the kitchenette.

We hope that this section of our studio provides photographers and creatives in Dallas with the perfect space to bring their visions to life. The combination of natural light, versatile space, and thoughtful design elements make this kitchenette a gem in our studio. There are so many people who worked hard to give the kitchenette the look it has today and we hope that you will love the space as much as we do.  If you’re looking for a Dallas photography studio with a kitchen, Brightside Studios has got you covered. We can’t wait to see all the incredible shoots that will happen in this space.
